Blue Bishop Relocation

Settling in and destination services

It is not a separate service. It rides on the permit.

Everything that makes a move actually work — the address, the bank account, the school run — depends on the immigration case being right first. That is the order.

Which is why we would rather do both than hand you to a second supplier who cannot see the first.

Blue Bishop Relocation Kft. provides settling-in services in Hungary as part of the immigration work rather than instead of it: accommodation and timing for project teams, the registrations that follow a permit, and the practical help that arriving employees and their families actually ask for.

Common questions

Questions HR teams ask before they buy

Can we buy settling-in services on their own?

We provide them as part of the immigration work rather than instead of it. The address, the bank account and the school run all depend on the immigration case being right first, and a provider who only handles the practical layer cannot see whether the one underneath it is sound. If another firm is already running the permit, say so on the first call and we will tell you plainly whether adding us is worth it.

What do settling-in services cost in Hungary?

These are the entry prices: settling-in services from EUR 500, home search from EUR 900, temporary accommodation from EUR 350, an orientation or pre-assignment visit from EUR 550, and a departure programme from EUR 750. All prices are net, excluding VAT and third-party costs such as government fees, certified translation and courier. Rates apply to Budapest and the surrounding area, and are current as of September 2026.

Which parts do arriving employees actually use?

Most often accommodation and timing for project teams. Regularly the registrations that follow a permit: tax number, social security and the address side, which decide whether someone can actually be paid. Sometimes home search, schools, bank account and driving licence exchange, for people staying longer or where the company has a relocation budget for the role.

Do you cover countries other than Hungary?

Slovakia, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia and North Macedonia, through people we have known for years on the permit side and the practical side both. It is a network of people, not a franchise. Tell us where someone is going and we will say plainly whether we can carry it there.

What comes first, the permit or the housing?

The immigration case. The permit application has to start early enough, and everyone needs somewhere to sleep on the night they land, so both run on one calendar. If a filing moves, the arrival moves with it, and so does the accommodation.

Is the first call free?

Yes. Tell us who is arriving and when, and we will tell you which parts of this are worth buying for that person and which you can skip.

Can the spouse work?

Not automatically. A spouse always needs a separate permit of their own — it does not follow from the employee’s.

Where it gets stuck

Three things hold people up

None of them is anyone’s fault, and only one of them is a deadline that can be missed. Knowing which is which is most of the job.

The TAJ number

8–15 days

And longer when the health insurance fund is busy. Nothing on the employer’s side speeds it up, so we plan the start date around it rather than against it.

The bank account

Blocked until the QR code

No bank will open an account without the QR code issued with the residence permit. Until that exists, there is nowhere to pay a salary into.

The employer notification

5 days

Five days from the decision. This one is a statutory deadline rather than an administrative habit, and it sits with the employer, not the employee.

Renting, as it actually works

What a Hungarian landlord asks a foreign tenant

Not what the guides say. What comes up in the viewings we actually run.

  • Two months’ deposit is the floor. Below that is rare enough that it is worth asking why.
  • A cautious landlord will want more than a signature. An employment contract, a declaration made before a notary, or the lease itself signed in front of one.
  • Every lease we handle is bilingual. Hungarian and English, in one document, so nobody signs a text they cannot read.
  • We leave the utilities in the landlord’s name wherever we can. Transferring them serves neither side, and we would rather say so than quietly bill for the work.

Where our part ends

A service has a beginning, a middle and an end

We handle the registrations. All of them — that is what the compliance package is, rather than a menu of extras you assemble yourself. The bank account is the one exception: an employee can open it alone, and most do, so it is rarely ordered from us.

And there is an end to it. On a home search our work runs to the signature and the move-in. After that you deal with the landlord directly, not through us. We would rather say that at the start than at the invoice.
